Temple Sholom's Community is based on four basic ideas, dating back to its Founding Rabbi and Charter Members:
Inclusiveness: Jews by birth, Jews by choice, and interfaith families are welcome as we worship, as we learn, and as we celebrate Judaism. We are a member of Big Tent Judaism and have a Keshet group to help support our GLBT members
Intimacy: Temple Sholom is one of the smaller Reform congregations in Cincinnati. In our congregation every person counts and everyone is welcome. Our size allows each member to be part of a close community. Many of our new members tell us they joined because they wanted to be part of a congregation where the rabbi knows them personally.
Innovation: From its inception, Temple Sholom has been an innovator in ritual, lifelong learning, and social action and justice.
Involvement: Temple Sholom has a history of social action and community involvement dating back to its Founding Rabbi, Stanley Brav. We give back to our community and to the world with projects like our Soup Kitchen, Bikur Cholim projects with elderly, and in our work in the community with People Working Cooperatively

In this section of our website, you will have an opportunity to learn about our communities.
Our Sisterhood has been a pillar of our Temple since its founding and provides special community to Temple Women.
Our Brotherhood maintains and beautifies our synagogue and provides friendship opportunities to its members.
These two organzations often conduct joint events, such as our recent Game Night and Brotherhood-Sisterhood Dinner and Lecture on Male-Female relationships.
