Temple Sholom

Religious School

Our Religious School provides an environment which encourages a connection to God, Jewish tradition and each other. Students learn about the Jewish Holidays, Life Cycle Events, Torah, and Israel as well as Hebrew and Jewish values. Jewish culture is promoted through music and the arts.

Religious School meets two days a week, Sundays and Wednesdays. We continue through grade 8, after which our students attend the Cincinnati Reform Jewish High School. On Sunday mornings we participate in Tzur Shalom a combined religious school for the children of Rockdale Temple & Temple Sholom.

Tefilah, or Jewish prayer, is an important part of Religious School. Our students gather to practice the b’rachot (prayers and blessings) which they are learning in Hebrew class, and to sing together as a community.

Family Learning Days are held throughout the year. They provide an opportunity for parents and children to learn together.

7th and 8th graders meet weekly for Yeshivat  Noar. In addition to Hebrew and core classes, students who will soon become Bar or Bat Mitzvah meet with the Rabbi and the Yeshivat Noar Coordinator for a B’nai Mitzvah class. Yeshivat Noar also plans a monthly junior youth group program.

Cincinnati Reform Jewish High School

The Cincinnati Reform Jewish High School is a program sponsored by and for the members of the Reform Temples of Cincinnati. Students who have successfully completed the 8th grade of Religious School may attend. Hosting of the school rotates on a semester basis among the Reform Temples.
